Charting the Unknown -- Not-so-simple models for new physics

Sonia El Hedri
École Polytechnique - U. Paris/Saclay

We are currently in a unique situation where we know close to nothing about where new physics will appear next and what it will look like. In this talk, taking the example of thermal dark matter, I illustrate how simplified models can be used to explore the wide variety of possible new physics scenarios and derive generic and robust conclusions from experimental results.
