Gauge invariance and canonical quantization in nucleon internal structure

The first and second proton spin crisis will be analyzed. A consistent decomposition of the momentum and angular momentum operators of a gauge field system, which satisfy both the gauge invariance and the canonical commutation relations, is proposed. This new decomposition might change our picture of the nucleon internal structure.
