QCD Beyond Leading Power

Gherardo Vita
MIT

The study of amplitudes and cross sections in the soft and collinear limits allows for an understanding of their behavior at all orders in the coupling constant, and the identification of universal structures. The Soft Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) is a powerful framework for studying factorization of amplitudes and cross sections in QCD. While factorization at leading power has been well studied, much less is known beyond leading power. In this talk I will present an overview of the recent developments in understanding power corrections for collider physics observables. After giving a set of applications for subleading power calculations, I will explain how to compute power corrections in perturbation theory, the ingredients necessary for factorization at subleading power and the new findings in performing regularization, renormalization and resummation beyond leading power.
