Three-Particle Final State Energy Distributions: T+D -> N+alpha+gamma and T+T -> 2N+alpha

Carl R. Brune
Ohio U

The gamma-ray spectrum from T+D and the neutron spectrum from T+T at low energies are of interest to several research areas, including inertial confinement fusion and few-nucleon structure. The final states of both reactions contain at least one neutron and an alpha particle, and neutron-alpha interactions significantly impact the final state energy distributions. New low-energy experimental data for both energy spectra will be presented. In addition, the R-matrix modeling of these spectra will be discussed. The T+T final state, 2N+alpha, is a particularly interesting case, as it is necessary to construct the amplitude to be antisymmetric under neutron exchange.
