A random walk towards the thermodynamics of all quantum systems

Joaquin Drut
UNC

Stochastic non-perturbative approaches to many-fermion systems typically face a signal-to-noise problem known as the "sign problem". Motivated by how pervasive this problem is, we go back to the drawing board and explore new approaches that do not rely on probabilities in a conventional way. We test our methods on conventional Ising models and strongly coupled many-fermion systems.
