Progress in quantum Monte Carlo calculations for nuclear physics

Diego Lonardoni
LANL

In this talk I will report recent progress in quantum Monte Carlo calculations for nuclear physics, focusing on the efforts devoted to the study of the medium-heavy region of the nuclear chart in particular. These developments offer the opportunity to test our understanding of the nuclear force and open the possibility for the study of a large variety of physical problems, from the physics of neutron-rich environments and neutron stars to neutrino physics.
