Bulk viscosity of quark-gluon plasma in relativistic heavy ion collisions

Sangyong Jeon
McGill U.

The bulk viscosity of quark gluon plasma (QGP) has been often ignored in simulations of heavy ion collisions because it was considered to be too small. While it is true that the bulk viscosity is small at high temperature, it is not so near the phase transition temperature. In this talk, I will talk about recent development in including the bulk viscosity in realistic simulations by the McGill theory group.
