Fundamental Physics with Cold and Ultra-cold Neutrons

Takeyasu Ito
P-25, LANL

Experiments using slow neutrons can address a number of issues spanning nuclear physics, particle physics, astrophysics, and cosmology. With more intense sources of cold and ultracold neutrons becoming available, the recent years have experienced a significant increase in activity in the field of fundamental neutron physics. In this talk, I will outline highlights of the current and future low-energy precision experiments using cold and ultracold neutrons, including the UCNA experiment at LANSCE and the neutron EDM experiment to be performed at SNS.
