(Im)precise nuclear physics: Uncertainty Quantification in the supercomputing era

Uncertainty Quantification (UQ) in nuclear physics has seen a renewed strong interest in recent years and its importance can hardly be understated. Proper UQ is the main engine in the theory-experiment feedback loop and meaningful comparisons between two theoretical models can only be made if error bars are present. In this seminar I'll review some advances of UQ in Nucleon-Nucleon interactions, nuclear structure calculations and nuclear astrophysics. I'll also discuss how a proper management of computational resources becomes necessary to perform some of the most demanding calculations in this context.
