Color superconductivity in neutron stars

Rishi Sharma
Tata Institute

If deconfined quarks exist in the cores of neutron stars, they are likely to form condensates giving rise to color superconductivity. The properties of these color superconducting phases depend on the pairing pattern of the condensates and I will discuss how these can affect some static and dynamic properties of neutron stars. In particular I'll motivate ongoing work on the shear viscosity of crystalline color superconducting phases and give preliminary results.
