Searching for Physics Beyond the Standard Model at LHCb

The LHCb experiment at the LHC at CERN is searching for physics beyond the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics by studying rare and CP-violating decays of beauty and charm quarks. Many observables in such decays are highly sensitive to the existence of supersymmetric particles and other extensions to the SM. Furthermore, in many cases the SM predictions are well known which permits high-precision tests to be performed. Such tests produce strong limits on the properties of new physics. I will present an overview of LHCb's results to-date and prospects for the future.
