Confinement and short-range interactions in baryons

Recent lattice QCD calculations have provided insight into the nature of the confining potential in baryons, at least in QQQ baryons where a potential is easily defined. The implication for potential models is discussed, along with various models of the short-range interactions between the quarks in baryons.
