A Nuclear Data Interface: Design, Implementation and Applications

A nuclear data interface (NDI) has been developed which abstracts a simulation code's interaction with underlying nuclear data libraries, allowing data to be updated (in both content and format) transparently to the application. Equally important, the NDI enables a consistent approach to dealing with nuclear data across many different physics packages. After a discussion of the motivation and design of the interface, specific applications will be presented.
