Correlated Basis Theory Electroweak Operators. Gold Radiochemistry.

Shannon Cowell
T-16, LANL

In the first part of this talk I will discuss initial studies of electroweak effective operators obtained using Correlated Basis Theory. Recent results obtained for both neutrino reaction rates in nucleon matter as well as electron scattering in finite systems will be presented. In the second part of this talk, a recent calculation of the gold radiochemical network will be presented. In weapons research, Au isused as a diagnostic tool to determine the time integrated neutron fluence from the explosion. A gold network that has been implemented at LLNL indicates the necessity for a more detailed study of the nuclear physics of gold radiochemistry. The present work explores sensitivities of the 195Au/196Au ratio to cross sections, isomeric states and the neutron flux.
