Skyrme-Hartree-Fock Mass Formulas

Mike Pearson
Montreal University, Canada

I will describe the most recent mass models of the Brussels-Montreal collaboration. These models use the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov method with a Skyrme-type force in the HF channnel, along with a delta-function pairing force and a Wigner-type phenomenological correction term. Essentially all the available mass data are fitted, and mass tables constructed from one drip line to the other. With the primary motivation being astrophysical, we pay particular attention to the extrapolation out to the neutron drip line (r-process) and beyond (equation of state of neutron-star matter).
