IN THIS NODE CONTAINS ALL FILES FOR THE LA-UR-94-3106 (ENDF-349) REPORT: 1) ENDF349.PS OUR MOST RECENT REPORT ON YIELDS IN POSTSCRIPT. 2-7) APPENDIX A, B, C, D, E, AND F, A DETAILED EVALUATED AND COMPILED YIELDS IN STANDARD ASCII TEXT. The PostScript report is sufficient for most users and is necessary for interpretation of the appendices and notations there. ---------------- 1) The PostScript report, endf349.ps, is: LA-UR-94-3106 (ENDF-349) Evaluation and Compilation of Fission Product Yields: 1993 T. R. England and B. F. Rider Los Alamos National Laboratory October, 1994 This document is the latest in a series of compilations and eval- uations of fission product yields. It includes yield evaluations for thirty-six fissioning nuclides at one or more fission energies or spontaneous fission; the total number of such yield sets is 60; both independent and cumulative yields are given for each set. The independent (direct) yields apply before delayed neutron emission and the cumulative yields after such emission. The report lists parameters, branchings, etc and describes the evaluation pro- cedure in detail along with mass chain yields and an extensive ann- otated bibliography. (The 1993 in the title refers to the last year for inclusion of measured data.) 2) Appendices are labeled as apx.a, apx.b, etc Appendices are standard ASCII text and contain in addition to eval- uations, the compiled and updated yields used in the evaluations. Half lives, branchings, distribution parameters, etc are included. These have been compiled over the span of the three decades. There are approximately 1200 fission products in each of the 60 sets. The appendices contain data for the following fissioning nuclides (where t, f, h or he, and s denote thermal, pooled fast, high energy, and spontaneous fission): apx.a=Appendix A Yields for: u235t,u235f,u235he,u238f,u238he,pu239t,pu239f,pu241t,u233t,th232f apx.b=Appendix B Yields for: u233f,u233he,u236f,pu239h,pu240f,pu241f,pu242f,th232h,np237f,cf252sf apx.c=Appendix C Yields for: u234f,u237f,pu240h,u234he,u236he,pu238f,am241f,am243f,np238f,cm242f apx.d=Appendix D Yields for: th227t,th229t,pa231f,am241t,am241h,a242mt,cm245t,cf249t,cf251t,es254t apx.e=Appendix E Yields for: th227t,th229t,pa231f,am241t,am241h,a242mt,cm245t,cf249t,cf251t,es254t apx.f=Appendix F Yields for: cm243t,cm246s,cm243f,cm244f,cm246f,cm248f,pu242h,np237t,pu240t,pu242t 3) The PostScript document plus the appendices provide complete documentation for the second release of ENDF/B-VI and add additional information in addition to the extensive data compilation. 4) IMPORTANT NOTES FOR USERS: a) Users should refer to the PostScript report for references contained in the compiled data and for an explanation of the uncertainty symbols, special treatment and source notations. Many references are annotated with explanations needed to interpret the treatment of specific data. The distribution model and some of its parameters are described in the PostScript text. (Chain yields are only listed in the PostScript file.) The PostScript document runs to 173 pages. b) In toto, the appendices run to approximately 1300 pages. The appendices should be printed landscape and using the usual column 1 for page control; each page includes the complete evaluated data for 10 fission nuclides per mass number. The compiled data follow the listing of evaluations for the ten sets in each appendix. Compiled data start at line 6583 in each appendix. Most users will not be interested in the compiled data. The first 6582 lines are formatted to produce readable tables for each mass number per page, listing fission product ID's and branching information at the top of the page. The Id's that are followed with a "d" refer to a delayed neutron isomeric state; these are necesary in the evaluation but can be ignored by the user. A FINAL COMMENT: ALL FILES ARE PART OF THE SAME DOCUMENT, LA-UR-94-3106 (ENDF-349). A LIMITED NUMBER OF PRINTED COPIES WILL BE DISTRIBUTED BUT MANY USERS WILL PRODUCE THEIR OWN PRINTS FROM THE COMPUTER FILES. IT IS IMPORTANT TO MAINTAIN THE INTEGRITY OF THE ORIGINAL FILES. TOWARD THIS END ALL FILES ON THE T2.LANL.GOV NODE ARE READ ONLY, AND THE ORIGINAL FILES ARE RETAINED IN THE LOS ALAMOS MASS STORAGE FACILITY AND CAN BE ACCESSED BY ONLY A FEW PEOPLE AND ALL HAVE ONLY READ ACCESS EXCEPT FOR THE AUTHOR. ANY USER CONCERNED ABOUT THE POSSIBLE CORRUPTION OF DATA SHOULD ACQUIRE IT AGAIN FROM THE T2.LANL.GOV ANONYMOUS INTERNET NODE. THE FILES WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE FROM BNL, IAEA, AND OTHER SOURCES AS TIME PROCEEDS. USERS WHO ARE UNABLE TO PRINT THE POSTSCRIPT DOCUMENT CAN REQUEST A COPY FROM THE AUTHOR. ---------------- T. R.
