Above 2.5 MeV, the total cross 6334 1451 102 sections were assumed to be the same as the experimental 6334 1451 103 values of natural europium measured by Foster [7]. 6334 1451 104 MT= 2 Elastic scattering cross sections 6334 1451 105 The elastic scattering cross sections in the energy higher 6334 1451 106 than the unresolved resonance energy were obtained by 6334 1451 107 substructing the non elastic cross section from the evaluated 6334 1451 108 total cross section. 6334 1451 109 MT= 3 Nonelastic scattering cross section 6334 1451 110 The nonelastic scattering cross section was calculated by 6334 1451 111 summing up all cross sections except the elastic scattering 6334 1451 112 cross section. 6334 1451 113 MT= 4,51,52...,91 Inelastic scattering cross sections 6334 1451 114 The inelastic scattering cross sections are given as total 6334 1451 115 (MT=4), discrete level excitation cross section (MT=51...) for6334 1451 116 the first 5 levels and continuum level excitation cross 6334 1451 117 section (MT=91). The level scheme for these discrete level is 6334 1451 118 taken from Refs. [9,10,11,12,13]. 6334 1451 119 Since no experimental data are available for the individual 6334 1451 120 level excitation cross sections, they were calculated using 6334 1451 121 COMNUC-3 [14] for energies up to 3 MeV. Above 3 MeV, 6334 1451 122 inelastic scattering is mostly the excitation of the 6334 1451 123 continuum of levels, so that the inelastic scattering cross 6334 1451 124 section for discrete level excitation above this energy was 6334 1451 125 neglected and the inelastic scattering cross section for 6334 1451 126 continuum level excitation was calculated by the Cascade 6334 1451 127 calculation using GROGI-3 [15]. The level density parameters 6334 1451 128 for the continuum of levels were taken from Cook's data [17] 6334 1451 129 for the deformed nuclei using the Gilbert-Cameron formula [18]6334 1451 130 MT= 16,17 (n,2n), (n,3n) cross sections 6334 1451 131 These cross sections were calculated by using GROGI-3. The 6334 1451 132 Optical Model parameters described in the later section were 6334 1451 133 used. 6334 1451 134 MT=102 Radiative capture cross section 6334 1451 135 The radiative capture cross sections at low energy range were 6334 1451 136 calculated from the File 2 resonance parameters and are given 6334 1451 137 as smooth cross sections. The cross sections between 100 eV 6334 1451 138 and 10 keV are presented as unresolved resonance parameters. 6334 1451 139 For energy higher than 10 keV, the cross sections were 6334 1451 140 calculated using COMNUC-3. The calculation was done similarly6334 1451 141 to the ones for Eu151 and Eu153 [7], that is, Moldauer's 6334 1451 142 Q value was assumed to be zero, and the correlation correction6334 1451 143 factor due to the degrees of freedom associated with open 6334 1451 144 channels was taken into account. From 3 MeV to 20 MeV, the 6334 1451 145 capture cross section was obtained by GROGI-3 for the compound6334 1451 146 process, by Cvelbar's formula [21] based on Lane-Lynn [22] 6334 1451 147 and Brown's [23] formula for the direct and semi-direct 6334 1451 148 reaction. 6334 1451 149 MT=103,28 (n,p) and (n,n',p) cross sections 6334 1451 150 No experimental values were available, so that we calculated 6334 1451 151 these by nuclear model codes. For (n,p) reaction, the semi- 6334 1451 152 empirical Statistical Model code THRESH [20] was used. But 6334 1451 153 the evaluation [7] of Eu151 and Eu153 indicated that the 6334 1451 154 cross sections around 14 MeV calculated by this code were 6334 1451 155 small compared to the experimental values. thus, the 6334 1451 156 calculated cross sections were normalized by the factors 6334 1451 157 obtained for Eu151. The (n,n'p) cross sections were 6334 1451 158 calculated using GROGI-3. 6334 1451 159 MT=104,105,107 (n,d), (n,t), (n,He3) reaction cross sections 6334 1451 160 The cross sections calculated by THRESH were adopted. 6334 1451 161 MT=107,22 (n,alpha) and (n,n'd) cross sections 6334 1451 162 These cross sections were obtained in a similar manner to the 6334 1451 163 (n,p) and (n,n'p) reactions. 6334 1451 164 6334 1451 165 MT= 4 ANGULAR DISTRIBUTION OF SECONDARY NEUTRONS 6334 1451 166 MT= 2 Elastic scattering 6334 1451 167 Calculated by ABACUS-2 (NABAK PDP-10 version) [6].
