Chiral Magnetic Effect In and Out-of Equilibrium at Weak Coupling

Ho-Ung Yee
U. of Illinois, Chicago

We discuss several interesting aspects of Chiral Magnetic Effect (CME), a quantum mechanical charge transport originating from chiral anomaly, in weak coupling quasi-particle description of chiral particles, both in and out-of equilibrium. Recent developments in the kinetic theory and diagrammatic analysis of CME will be highlighted. Finally, we discuss a novel propagating waves of chiral charges coming from CME, Chiral Magnetic Wave, and its possible experimental signatures in heavy-ion collisions.
