Exclusive Jets in Deep Inelastic Scattering

Christopher Lee
T-2, LANL

Jet cross sections in Deep Inelastic Scattering are sensitive probes of the parton distributions inside the proton and the strong coupling alpha_s. We consider events with two jets in the final state in the center-of-momentum frame, with one jet along the incident proton direction. We use soft collinear effective theory to account consistently for the effects of initial state radiation and hadronization corrections and to resum large logarithms in perturbation theory to NNLL (next-to-next-to-leading-logarithmic) accuracy, the highest achieved to date in DIS.
