Infrared quantum information

Dan Carney
University of Maryland

Recently there has been a resurgence of interest in long-wavelength photons and gravitons. I will discuss information theoretic aspects of these particles. In particular I will show that photo/graviton emission during scattering processes leads to highly decohered outgoing scattering states of charged/massive objects. Following Strominger, this may be relevant to the black hole information loss problem.
