Mutual Interactions of Magnons, Phonon and Skymrions in Magnetic Systems From Coset Constructions

Ira Rothstein
Carnegie Mellon

In this talk I will discuss the application of the coset construction procedures to study the low energy behavior of (Anti)Ferromagnetic systems. I will first show that symmetry considerations fix the couplings between magnons and phonons and then generalize the system to allow for symmetry breaking DM (Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya) and anisotropy terms. The space-time coset construction will then be used to build an action for the Skyrmion and its coupling to phonons and magnons. Finally I will use these results to present the potential between skyrmions due to magnon and phonon exchange as well as other predictions which can be generated using the pretend results.
