Single-Particle Enhancement of Heavy-Element Production: Compressed Files

Each of these files for the preprint ``Single-Particle Enhancement of Heavy-Element Production,'' by P. Möller, J. R. Nix, P. Armbruster, S. Hofmann, and G. Münzenberg, has been compressed by use of the command gzip name to produce the compressed version name.gz. If these files are not decompressed automatically by your system, then use the command gunzip name.gz to transform the compressed file name.gz into the normal file name. The description for each file below refers to the normal version after decompression.

mehep.tar.gz (2.47 MB). Tar file of the complete preprint, including device-independent (dvi), PostScript, and LaTeX versions of the text, plus PostScript files of the figures. Use the command tar xvf mehep.tar to create the directory mehep containing the files text.dvi, text.ps, and text.tex, plus the sub-directory figs1-5 with the indicated figures. The three text files contained in mehep.tar are identical to those that can be obtained individually below, but the formats used for the figures are different. The figures are included in mehep.tar as five separate files in a sub-directory, whereas in the format used below they are merged into one file containing all five figures. Because of the three-dimensional grayscale illustrations of fusion, ground-state, and fission configurations contained in figures 3-5, these three figures require a long time to print on most printers. The actual printing time depends upon the amount of printer memory available and other printer characteristics.
text.dvi.gz (12 KB). Device-independent (dvi) file produced by LaTeX of the text section of the preprint, which occupies pages 1-7. This file can be conveniently viewed on-screen by use of xpreview, xdvi, or similar dvi previewer. It can also be used on many systems to generate a PostScript file of arbitrary printer resolution.
text.ps.gz (49 KB). PostScript file in 600-dpi resolution produced by LaTeX and dvips of the text section of the preprint, which occupies pages 1-7. Print this file on a 600-dpi PostScript printer to produce the entire text section.
text.tex.gz (9 KB). LaTeX file of the text section of the preprint, which occupies pages 1-7. Please note that if you process this file with your LaTeX system, you may obtain line and page breaks at different locations than occurred where the preprint was prepared. To guarantee the original appearance of the preprint, you should instead utilize either the above file text.dvi or the above file text.ps.
figs1-5.ps.gz (2.40 MB). PostScript file of figures 1-5 of the preprint, which occupy pages 8-12. Print on any black-and-white PostScript printer. Because of the three-dimensional grayscale illustrations of fusion, ground-state, and fission configurations contained in figures 3-5, these three figures require a long time to print on most printers. The actual printing time depends upon the amount of printer memory available and other printer characteristics. On some printers it may be necessary to separate the five-figure file into separate files and print each one individually. In this case the splits should occur between %%trailer and %%PS-Adobe-2.0. Alternatively, this file can be conveniently viewed on-screen by use of ghostview or similar PostScript previewer.
