Collisions of Deformed Nuclei: Compressed Files
Each of these files for the preprint ``Collisions of Deformed Nuclei: A Path
to the Far Side of the Superheavy Island,'' by Akira Iwamoto, Peter
Möller, J. Rayford Nix, and Hiroyuki Sagawa, has been compressed by use of
the command gzip name to produce the compressed version
name.gz. If these files are not decompressed automatically by your
system, then use the command gunzip name.gz to transform the compressed
file name.gz into the normal file name. The description for
each file below refers to the normal version after decompression.
- text.ps.gz (56 KB).
PostScript file of the text section of the preprint, which occupies pages
1-15.
- figs1-10low.ps.gz (7 KB).
Low-resolution PostScript file of figures 1-10 of the preprint, which occupy
pages 16-25 and provide three-dimensional grayscale illustrations of the fusion
configurations considered. This version requires the least amount of time to
print or to render on a PostScript viewer but produces the lowest-quality
output. Whereas each resolution enhancement represented by the following three
versions quadruples the printing time, the resulting appearance will be vastly
improved by selecting one of them instead. The actual printing time depends
upon the amount of printer memory available and other printer characteristics.
On some printers it may be necessary to separate the 10-figure file into 10
separate files and print each one individually. In this case the splits should
occur between %%trailer and %%PS-Adobe-2.0.

Medium-resolution PostScript file of figures 1-10 of the preprint, which
occupy pages 16-25 and provide three-dimensional grayscale illustrations of the
fusion configurations considered. This version requires an intermediate amount
of time to print or to render on a PostScript viewer and produces
intermediate-quality output.
