To Prospective Postdocs and Students
Applications are invited for several postdoctoral positions year round in the areas of computational astrophysics and/or plasma astrophysics.
Candidates with experience and interests in topics related to astrophysical jets, formation of supermassive black holes, galaxy clusters, and exoplanets are highly encouraged to apply.
Background in computational astrophysical fluid physics (hydro and MHD) and/or plasma kinetic physics (PIC and particle acceleration in jets and radio lobes) will be desirable.
The position is offered by the Nuclear and Particle Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology group within the Theoretical Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
The successful candidates are encouraged to collaborate with the current group members on on-going projects, and will also be able to develop his/her own research program.
The initial appointment is for two years, with a possible third year extension.

All candidates are automatically considered for several Postdoctoral Fellowships offered by Los Alamos National Laboratory. Applications are accepted year-round, but for those who wish to be considered for Fellowships, applications need to be received prior to the respective deadlines (4 times a year, see the Table below). US citizenship is not required. Applicants with US citizenship will also be considered for the Metropolis Postdoctoral Fellowship in Computational Physics. The review of applications will be on-going until offers are accepted. The starting date of the appointment can be immediate and is negotiable.
